If you are moving to New Brunswick from abroad to study at one of our colleges or universities, one of the first things you are likely to notice is our friendly and welcoming nature. Your future in New Brunswick
One of the biggest advantages of studying in New Brunswick for international students is the permanent residency options in the province. On top of providing endless experiential learning opportunities to student during their education journey, New Brunswick provides additional supports to international students who have an intent to live and work in the province on a permanent basis. Working as a Student
If you are a full-time post-secondary student enrolled at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) you may be able to work up to 20 hours per week while you are enrolled in school.
A new temporary public policy was announced that from November 15, 2022, until December 31, 2023, international students who are in Canada and have off-campus work authorization on their study permit will be allowed to work over 20 hours per week off-campus while class is in session. Finding Employment
There are many organizations that may help you prepare for and assist you to find employment while you are studying.
In addition to working while you study, you may also be able to help your spouse or common-law partner get a work permit while you study, work temporarily, or stay permanently in Canada after you graduate as an international student.

Designated Learning Institutions
In addition to public universities, there are also private universities in New Brunswick. If you choose to apply to study at a private university or at a private career college, make sure the private school you apply to meets provincial education requirements and is included on the list of designated learning institutions.
